Middle of March German stretching line specialist Brückner invited representatives of the plastics film value chain in Southeast Asia to meet in Jakarta, Indonesia, for the „Asia Pacific Specialty Film Seminar 2019”. More than 80 film manufacturers, converters, raw material producers and machine suppliers came for this one-day event and discussed latest technologies and developments.
The agenda included brand-new information about Southeast Asia’s markets, innovations in technical films such as battery separators, super-thin capacitors, optical film and solar back sheet as well as related specialty film line concepts. Visitors showed greatest interest in the question “where do the markets develop in times of environmental problems and increased need for recycling and circular economy?”
Therefore, the seminar’s topic “sustainability in the plastics film industry” was most lively discussed. The focus of the latest trends presented is on the production of mono-material structures with the highest recyclability. At the seminar, Brückner showed new packaging film types such as BOPE, BOPP multi-layer, BOPP inline coated and recyclable shrink sleeves and the appropriate stretching line concepts. Film manufacturers with older lines were particularly interested in upgrades for new film types according to latest environmental standards.
One participant voice: Ruslan Nutrobkin, Narai Packaging, Thailand, said: „I`m so glad to participate at this event. I got useful and profound market data and a lot of ideas for old and new markets. I wish we had more seminars like this.”
Due to the positive response, Brückner will continue its seminar series. Next event: May 28 in Osaka, Japan. Some of the topics: Sustainability in the plastics film supply chain, reduced energy consumption in the film production process, Industry 4.0.
